    Starting December 3, 2025, Aer Lingus will operate direct flights from Dublin (DUB) to Tromsø (TOS) every Wednesday and Sunday. The service will run until March 25, 2026, covering the peak Northern Lights season.

    The ideal season is late September to early April - these months offer the necessary darkness and have good aurora activity. 

  3. How cold does it get, and what should we pack?

    Winter temperatures in Tromsø typically range from -6°C to +1 °C in the city, but inland valleys can drop to -20°C or lower. Pack wool layers, insulated outerwear, cold-weather boots, hats and gloves. 

  4. Do I need cash for anything specific in Tromsø?

    Very little. Some public toilets, parking meters, or small kiosks might prefer cash, but most accept cards. Having a small amount of NOK on hand can be helpful, but it’s not essential.

  5. How long should I stay?

    A minimum of 4 days is recommended - ideally - 7 - so you can reattempt sightings and enjoy diverse activities
